Eat Meat Move respects your privacy.
This Privacy Notice explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, how long we keep it, who we may share it with, and the choices and rights you have when you interact with Eat Meat Move.
It applies to Eat Meat Move websites, forms, email communications, assessments, questionnaires and related services, including register.eatmeatmove.com and quiz.eatmeatmove.com.
Eat Meat Move is responsible for deciding how your personal information is used.
2. Information we collect

Campaign and attribution information may be captured automatically when it is included in a link or submitted with a form. We do not normally ask you to enter that information manually.
3. Why we use your information
We may use your personal information to:
- record and respond to your expression of interest;
- send Eat Meat Move emails and updates where you have actively agreed to receive them;
- provide information, resources, assessments, results or services you request;
- personalise the information, content, recommendations or next steps we show or send to you;

4. Our lawful bases
Where you actively agree to receive Eat Meat Move marketing emails, we rely on your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
For some other activities, we may rely on our legitimate interests, for example understanding how our content performs, improving our services, maintaining appropriate business records and protecting our websites and systems. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider whether those interests are outweighed by your rights and interests.
We may also process personal information where necessary to comply with a legal obligation, or where another lawful basis applies.
Where health-related information amounts to special category data, we will also identify an appropriate condition for processing that information. Where legally required, we will ask for your explicit consent before collecting or using that information.
5. Email communications
We will only send you Eat Meat Move marketing emails where we have an appropriate lawful basis and, where applicable, the required permission under UK electronic marketing rules.
Providing an email address does not give us unlimited permission to use it for unrelated marketing.
Every marketing email will include a clear way to unsubscribe. If you withdraw your consent or object to direct marketing, we will stop using your information for that purpose. We may retain limited information on a suppression list so that we can continue to respect your preference not to receive further marketing.
6. Source and attribution information
Some Eat Meat Move links may contain information identifying the content or channel that brought you to one of our websites, such as a Content ID or campaign parameters.
When you submit an Eat Meat Move form, these details may be stored with your registration so that we can understand which content and channels are helping people discover Eat Meat Move. We use this information for attribution, reporting and improvement. You are not required to enter it yourself.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
Eat Meat Move websites may use technologies that are necessary for the websites, forms, assessments or security features to work correctly.
We will not use non-essential cookies or similar technologies for analytics, advertising or behavioural tracking where consent is required unless appropriate information and consent controls are provided first.
Information contained in a website address and submitted with a form, such as campaign parameters, is treated separately from cookie-based tracking.
If our use of cookies or similar technologies materially changes, we will update the information and controls provided on the relevant website.
8. Who processes your information
We may use trusted service providers to help us operate Eat Meat Move. These may include providers of website hosting, form processing, email delivery, marketing automation, customer relationship management, assessment or questionnaire technology, analytics, data storage, security, customer support and other services needed to operate or develop Eat Meat Move.
For the current registration website, this includes Netlify for website hosting and form processing. Other providers may be added, removed or replaced as Eat Meat Move develops.
Service providers may process personal information only for the relevant services and subject to appropriate data protection arrangements.
We do not sell your personal information.
9. International transfers
Some technology providers we use may store or process personal information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data protection law treats this as a restricted international transfer, we will use an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism or other recognised safeguard where required.
10. How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including providing requested communications, assessments or services, maintaining appropriate business and consent records, resolving complaints, protecting our legal interests and meeting legal obligations.
Different types of information may be kept for different periods. We review retention as our systems and services develop and delete or anonymise information when we no longer need to keep it.
If you unsubscribe from marketing, we may retain the minimum information necessary to record and respect that choice.
Assessment and questionnaire information will be retained only while it remains reasonably necessary for the assessment, personalisation, service improvement, research or record-keeping purposes explained in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer period is required by law.
11. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to:
- be informed about how your information is used;
- request access to your personal information;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- ask us to erase your information;
- ask us to restrict certain processing;
- object to certain processing;
- receive certain information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
- raise concerns about decisions made solely by automated means where applicable.
You have the right to object at any time to the use of your personal information for direct marketing.
To exercise a privacy right, contact us using the details in Section 16. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
12. Keeping your information secure
We take reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure.
No online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so we keep our systems and processing arrangements under review.
13. Assessments and health-related information
Eat Meat Move may offer assessments or questionnaires, including through quiz.eatmeatmove.com, to help you understand your current position, receive an assessment result and identify information or next steps that may be relevant to you.
If you choose to complete an assessment or questionnaire, we may ask about your lifestyle, food and eating patterns, movement, strength, goals, preferences, experiences, challenges and other information relevant to the assessment.
Some questions may invite you to provide health-related information. Health information can be special category personal data under UK data protection law and receives additional protection.
Where we intentionally collect special category data, we will explain what we are asking for and why. Where legally required, we will ask for your explicit consent before collecting or using it. You may choose not to provide optional health-related information.
We may use the information you provide to calculate or generate assessment results, personalise educational information, recommendations or next steps, understand the needs of our audience, improve Eat Meat Move services and assess the usefulness of our content and assessments.
Assessment results and personalised outputs are educational and informational. They are not a medical diagnosis and do not replace advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
We will not use health-related information for unrelated marketing without an appropriate lawful basis and any additional permission required by law.
14. Complaints
If you have concerns about how Eat Meat Move has collected or used your personal information, please contact us so that we can investigate and respond through our data protection complaints process.
If you remain unhappy after raising the matter with us, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator for data protection. Information about making a complaint is available at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
15. Changes to this Privacy Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice when our services, websites, technology, data collection, service providers, processing activities or legal obligations change.
The current version will be published on the relevant Eat Meat Move website with its effective date.
If a change materially affects how we collect or use your personal information, we will take reasonable steps to bring the change to your attention and, where required by law, ask for fresh consent before the changed processing takes place.
